Herd Production Listed The Holstein-Friesian Association of America today released a list of milk-herds that have completed a year's testing under its official Herd Improvement Registry program.
Figures indicating the average production of each cow in the herd, computed on a basis of milk received divided by the number of cows in the herd, were given for the Spies Lein herd, Graettinger. This herd of 30 had an average milk yield of 10,853 pounds, an average butterfat yield of 416 pounds, and produced 17 quarts of milk daily. Testing was supervised by Iowa State College. Speculate on Whereabouts Of Malenkov LONDON speculation about the whereabouts of deposed Soviet Premier Georgi Malenkov was heightened today by his absence from a farewell ceremony for a visiting Swedish power delegation.
The Swedes Monday night ended a 17-day tour of Soviet power stations, made at the invitation of the Soviet government. For unexplained reasons they did not see Malenkov, who was denoted seven weeks ago from the premiership to the post of minister of power stations. A Moscow radio broadcast describing the departure of the Swedish delegation made no mention of Malenkov. Alexi Pavlenko, described as a deputy power stations minister, saw them off at Airport. Until Malenkov got the job last Feb.
